I have a lot of things to say, today - all relevant to tomorrow. I hope you'll read this and really try to understand what it all means. I feel its important not only to my friends and family, but to others who might be facing the same decisions in the near future.
My brother Andrew, and his beautiful wife, Mona
Andrew is my HERO because on June 11, 2007 he will give me one of his kidneys, and hopefully end my 3.5 years on dialysis/kidney failure. Without BOTH Andrew and Mona, I wouldn't have this chance so soon. Andrew is my hero, but Mona is his, because she's supported him with this decision the entire journey.
'Thank you' isn't enough...
No update in awhile, but here's a big one!
All of my brother's testing at LifeLink went smoothly. He's the picture of health (as he's always been!) and got the 'OK' to be my living donor!
Wednesday we got the 'official' phone call from LifeLink saying that the transplant board approved him, and my transplant date has been set for JUNE 11, 2007 To say I'm 'excited' doesn't seem to do it justice! We will both have pre-op appointments the week before.
This is all happening very fast...
So now I'm left with trying to figure out how to say 'thank you' to someone who is giving me a gift I could never ask for. How does one find the words? "Thank you" just doesn't seem to be enough.
